Education

I think that being educated means having a solid understanding of a wide variety of subjects such as literature, science, global issues, math, and so on. However, I think that in order to be educated, one must also know how to go about researching and studying different topics on their own. Because American culture is so "work oriented," I think employers are the ones who decide what it means to be educated because they often use education as a way of judging their potential employees.

  1. I also think that being educated means more than solely knowing information you learn in school, but in a variety of subject areas. I also like how you said that the employers are the ones who decide what it means to be educated, because I don't think a lot of people are thinking about it this way, most people are saying that the individual decides so it's good to see a different view.

  2. I agree with your statement that employers are the ones who decided what it means to be educated. For the most part, we as students are going to college in order for us to have a career in the future. Employers know that we will go to college in order to work for them. So basically whatever the employers are looking for, we as students will try to attain in order to get a job in the future.
