What it means to be educated

To me, being educated means knowing a good amount about a lot of different things. It is important to educate all parts of a person including mind, body, and soul. With the increased number of ultra-specialized jobs in the world today, this idea of overall education is dying out. I realize the need for these types of jobs, however, i feel it is still important for people to know other things. People who only know a lot about one specific thing can only benefit society in one field. I feel it is important to be well rounded and be able to contribute in many ways. To be educated means to be well rounded in ones knowledge, but this idea of education is soon to be extinct.
