My definition of the educated

What does it mean to be educated?
It means that you have been taught information and skills that make up your overall knowlegdge about things around you.
Who decides what it means to be educated?
Society as a whole compiles a generic standard for what it means to be "educated". Different cultures can have different definitions of that standard. i.e. Educated in America means going through many, many years of school and/or training, while in a 3rd world country being educated may be having learned skills to survive.

Taylor Gillie

When people ask you "What does it mean to be educated?", the first thing you normally think about is school; going to school and or having some sort of college degree is what is classified as an education in today's society. I think that yes being educated means that you go to school in the sense of the word, but I also think that people can be smart or wise without having an education. An education, to me, is simple a piece of paper that says you graduated from high school, or from some sort of higher education facility. Getting an education means going to class and simply passing them, whereas learning involves actually comprehending the topics presented in such classes. If you don't take advantage of the learning opportunities during your "education" then yes you are still educated, but not any smarter or wiser than the day you stepped foot there.
The perception nowadays is that in order to be successful you have to have an education (or a piece of paper). In childhood our parents instill in us that we have to go to college in order to make money and have a successful career. Throughout our public school career we are pressured with questions such as "what do you want to be when you grow up?". The truth is that yes, education does help in getting a job, but there are also plenty of other successful job opportunities that do not require any sort of education. I think it is us that really decides what education is, and at this moment we have decided that education is a ticket to a better life.

What does it mean to be educated, and who decides?

I think, in today's society, to be educated means to have a college degree. Education means training for a particular career. We are all doing that right now. We all have been through at least 12 years of school and were being educated the entire time, but most of us are not ready for the career we want. It seems kind of like a waste of 12 years. I think we all could have learned what we did in much less time. We are not educated until we are ready to pursue a career.

The people running the companies and governments decide what it means to be educated. To get a well paying job someone needs to have a college degree. So we all have this picture in our head that we most go to college to be successful, because that's what the people who would be hiring us want.

Marie's Response

1) I believe that to be educated means to be intelligent and informed. It does not simply mean getting good grades in school or being able to pass tests, but to also be informed and involved in today's world. Being educated is working your mind to its full potential.
2) No single person or group of people should be allowed to decide what it means to be educated. Education and intelligence vary depending on the individual. Some people have a more natural ability to learn and understand information than others. Therefore, the decision should be based on the individual, not education as a whole.

Page 275-276 responses to both questions

To be educated, means that someone has expanded their own knowledge on one or more subjects to further understand everything; it also means that someone is living their life to the fullest by widening the potential for not only academic success, but also for personal acheivement and growth.

I think Mark Edmundson's "lite" college has something to do with my understanding of what "to be educated" is. I like how he believes college and learning in general, should not always be fun; it should be challenging so people get the most out of education and school. There's a time for fun and a time for work and being educated is almost a balance between the two, but work is up on the scale a little more than fun.

I believe that individuals decide what it means to be educated. Everyone learns at different rates and not everyone has the same interests. Most education boards do a great job on creating guidelines for all schools from public to private to trade schools. Every person has a right to further their education, for example, everyone doesn't go to college. Their are different types of education like physics-minded people and music-minded people. It doens't matter who decides what "to be educated" means as long as the individual enjoys what he/she is learning.

What it means to be educated

To be educated means for someone to have knowledge in many different aspects of life, that will help you have a better grasp of your beliefs, knowledge and your life. It is important to have a wide range of education, because there are many different situations in life that you will need to be informed on. A big part of education, in my opinion should be done outside of the classroom. It is vital for someone to have experiences that they can look back to and learn from them. In contrary to Mark Edmundon, and the "lite college education experience, education should be relaxed and you should have a important say in what you learn. Education should not be forced it should be wanted. College is a great time to learn, and you find out what you should want from it. I think the only person that can decide what it means to be educated is yourself. If you want to learn that it is achievable and it is important to know what you want from education.

Education

Everyday when I walk into class, I'm expected to learn something new. Sometimes though you might not be learning something new, you may be practicing or working on notes, or assignments you have done in the past. Overall, when I hear the word educated, I'm thinking about learning something new in the class. Although, after you have learned the material, you have to understand how to do it in the future, and that is where the class/homework gets involved. Depending on the class, it is both the teacher and students decision to be educated, but in my mind, it is all the students decision. For the teachers, I think they should make the class interesting, and make the students feel like they want to be in class. If the teacher makes it boring then some students might not want to be in the class and will not learn anything. Finally, it is the teachers job to teach the proper material for that class. As far as the students side, the students have to want to c0me to class prepared to learn. It's up to the students to come to class, do the homework, study for test, and do whatever else there is to do to become more educated.

What it Means to be Educated

1. I believe that being educated is being knowledgeable in terms of academics and culture. Most people undergo twelve years of required schooling to make themselves more knowledgeable in areas such as math, science, writing, and literature. Learning the basics of each area helps shape each and every person and helps them become more educated. Culture is also important in terms of being educated. Every culture is different and a person needs to learn how to act in certain situations within that culture in order to function properly. For example, a person cannot run around naked in a big city. If you're educated, you know this. A person may think that it is perfectly acceptable to do something, such as running around naked, when younger, but in order to be considered educated, I believe that a person needs to learn that some things in culture are not acceptable.
2. Society decides if a person is educated or not. School systems develop lesson plans and curriculums depending on the education level of students. States give out tests to interpret how much a person has learned over years of schooling. Employers look at people and their resumes to decide if they are educated or not. Every day a person is judged just by walking down the street, shopping for groceries, or any everyday activity. Based on how a person acts, another can interpret and decide if the person is educated or not.

Education

Education is simply knowing what you are taught in school. We may not need to know everything that we are taught, year by year; however, the general ideas that we are taught are useful in the real world. As we progress in the education system, we narrow down the subjects we are taught in order for us to be well educated in the career we have chosen to follow. With that said, I think it is important for the educators to decide what we are taught. In college, the professors are the ones who have gone through the courses, and know what is important in the job world. They are the ones who know what is important, and what is just in the textbook to explain in smaller detail.

Education

I think that being educated means having a solid understanding of a wide variety of subjects such as literature, science, global issues, math, and so on. However, I think that in order to be educated, one must also know how to go about researching and studying different topics on their own. Because American culture is so "work oriented," I think employers are the ones who decide what it means to be educated because they often use education as a way of judging their potential employees.

What it Means to Be Educated

To be educated, I believe, is to have a subsequent amount of knowledge that will get you by in certain situations. One can be academically educated, socially educated, economically educated..each form of education helps you out in life. I think it means to be able to absorb new information and add to your former knowledge. Being challenged is being educated because you are pushing yourself to learn something new, but I also think that you can have fun and learn at the same time. I disagree when they said in the intro. to chapter 12 that "He suggests something is wrong when college students expect to enjoy their classes more than be challenged by them," because I think that some of the most interesting classes and ones that you learn the most from, are those that you enjoy.
In terms of those deciding what it means to be educated, I believe the individual decides that. Everyone has the freedom to chose for themselves, how much they want to put into a situation, but in return that affects how much they get out of it. One can apply themselves a little and not learn very much, while at the same time they can apply themselves a lot and get a lot out of it. I think the government can also decide what it means to be educated in terms of exams, because in NJ we take the HSPAS, High School Proficiency Assessment, to make sure we have retained all the information taught in high school.

What it Means to be Educated

I think for someone to be educated means they have to have a general knowledge in a variety of subjects. These subjects can be learned in grades K-12, and even in college like our Gen. Ed. Classes. Once a person gains general knowledge, he/she may want to narrow their field of study, such as receiving their degree in a certain subject, so they are highly educated in one area of expertise. I think a lot of people decide what it means to be educated. Someone might set standards for themself, so he/she is deciding what it means to be educated. The schools and state also have a say in what it means to be educated. Schools have a curriculum they must cover during the year. In Virginia, we take SOL’s, or Standards of Learning, to make sure we have covered everything and to test our knowledge in the subject areas. In North Carolina, my brothers and sisters have to take EOG’s, or End of Grade, that test to see what they have learned during the year. These tests are a way for the state to test the education of the students.
1. To be educated one must have gone through some sort of of educational process or training. It is possible to be self educated and not all forms of effective education comes from the traditional textbook. To be educated one must be able to contribute to society.
2. Society decides who is educated. We judge people based on their educational training and assign them roles to fulfill in society.

What it means to be educated

To me, being educated means knowing a good amount about a lot of different things. It is important to educate all parts of a person including mind, body, and soul. With the increased number of ultra-specialized jobs in the world today, this idea of overall education is dying out. I realize the need for these types of jobs, however, i feel it is still important for people to know other things. People who only know a lot about one specific thing can only benefit society in one field. I feel it is important to be well rounded and be able to contribute in many ways. To be educated means to be well rounded in ones knowledge, but this idea of education is soon to be extinct.

Education

In todays world an education is something very special. To have an education means you know more than just common sense. People all over the world go to colleges and schools to get an education in a particular degree so they can be qualified for a certain job. Society decides if people are educated. If you are educated you will be able to get a job since society thinks you are knowledge in a certain area. However, education is not just about knowledge. Education comes from all experiences someone had throughout their life.
1. In my opinion, to be educated means to to make yourself a better person through learning. While it is usually associated with academic subjects such as reading, writing, math and history, i think education can also be shown in social skills such as how cultured one is, and how one interacts with other individuals.

2. I think everyone determines what it means to be educated for themselves. Society has a general definition of education, but i think every person has their own opinion on what education truly is.

What it Means to be Educated.

What does it mean to be educated? I think that being educated means that a person achieves a certain level of schooling before going into his or her career. I do not think they should have to go into college if their career does not require a college education but they should at least have a high school diploma. I think that the career that he or she enters is what can determine wether they are educated or not. If they are not well educated then they will not be able to fulfill the requirements in that career therefore showing that either he or she is not educated enough to be within that career.

What it means to be Educated

1. to be educated means that you went to school to further your knowledge. Some people will go to high school some will go even farther and get a college degree.

2. There are many people who decided if you are educated or not. One of which is the government who use standardized test to tell if you are "smart enough." Also College acceptance boards decided if you are educated enough to get into there school. Last employers decided if you are educated enough to work for them.

What does it mean to be educated

The introduction to chapter 12 provided us with some examples of what was going to be talked about throughout the chapter and how different people have different opinions on what it means to be educated. In my opinion education means a lot things. To some, a pre-school graduate might be considered educated, while others think that one is not educated until they have their masters in whatever with a PHD. Every school is different, being from the north I have always heard that northern schools are more challenging than southern schools. This might be true at the high school level but in college I think location has very little to do with education.
Getting an education is almost essential today, at the very least a high school diploma is needed. Why though? Why does that one piece of paper make such a difference in peoples lives and their ability to get a job? Well to be completely honest I have no idea who decides what it means to be educated. Sure each state and the government have some control over education but I believe it's really a personal choice. If someone has the desire and drive to educate themselves then that's exactly what they should do. If not, why spend the thousands of dollars it takes these days to do something you don't want to do? You decide what it means to be educated and you follow through in educating yourself.

What It Mean to be Educated

In the introduction to Chapter 12, I was the most disturbed by the concept that colleges no longer seek to focus their attention on education, but on interests that create a "retirement for the young." It is true, when I was looking for a college, I did not look for what school had the best Justice Studies program (my major), but somewhere I could feel at home. Should we see college as a home though? Being a full-time student is my current occupation, so my home should be separated from my education, right? While I debated this, I came across one main point. I am at college so I can be a well-rounded person, who can hold an intelligent conversation with anyone. In order to pursue this goal, it makes sense that there would be fun along the way. I disagree with the notion that education has to be boring, dull, and purely intellectual.
To be educated we don't have to lock ourselves in the library because studying books will only get a person so far. Being educated means being able to be in a variety of places and absorb new information. We can look around JMU and find something new to learn. Education comes from learning, which should never be limited to the classroom. There is a mindset needed to have to accept learning, but once you accept the challenge of learning something new and different, you have made the choice to educate yourself.
As for who decides what it means to be educated, it is entirely left up to the individual. Who decides, how, and to what extent someone allows themselves to be educated is a decision the person in question needs to decide. We are in a great school for academics, but if a student does not take advantage of the oppurtunities, can you even say the student received an education? Having your parents pay a tuition doesn't foster an education, a dedication to studies will solely birth an education.

Education?

What does it mean to be educated?

I believe that one is considered educated after they have completed a certain level of schooling. As a result, there are a number of levels of education spanning from the basics, learning how to read and write, to the more critical, learning about quantum physics. But regardless of the area of study, all these skills are taught to better one’s knowledge of his surroundings and increase their ability to succeed in society.

Who decides what it means to be educated?

In our society, the state initially decides who is educated. The government lays out the curriculum which they feel is essential to becoming a knowledgeable and functioning citizen. Their degree of success is debatable but it is meant to create a good base for when you enter the real world. At the college level, education is focused on certain areas of study relating to what career you wish to pursue in the future. At this point the different departments decide who is educated based on who completes the required courses.

Education

1. What does it mean to be educated?

I think being educated means that you have a strong understanding of several topics and subjects.  To be  educated you need to be able to apply what you have learned.  I also think that being educated means you are knowledgeable about deep and serious matters, such as things happening in our country like our economy.  To me, being educated is more than just what we learn from reading a book or doing homework.

2. Who decides what it means to be educated?

All along, we have been taught that you're educated if you go to school and earn a degree from a college or university.  Because of this social norm, I think it's the teachers and professors that decide whether you're educated or not.  Basically, if the teachers and professors do their job, then the students are considered to be educated.  I don't necessarily think this is true, but that's the way our society judges whether or not you're educated.

New Community

Hey everyone, Now im apart of the JMU football community. I'm thinking about writing my narrative on how I made the transition from UVA to JMU footall community and how they are similar and different from one another. Some of the similarities might be how football players act in general, but the differences is how the football players act individually to become a team, how the team acts together as one. Maye some players value some things higher or lower than others. For example, the football players here always say, "It hurts." That is something new for me and now I'm saying it all the time.

Jeff's Community Narrative

Hey everybody,

For my community narrative i was considering writing about something involving music. Haven't decided whether i want to write about listening to music in general or a specific genre. If i decide on the later i think i will choose electronica which is a lesser known style of music that i am a fan of. Since it isn't played on the radio with any regularity most people are not familiar with any of the artists who are apart of this genre. Having the good fortune of growing up in the city, i am apart of the community which goes to see these artists perform in local venues which is often there only outlet for exposure to the public. Its a very unique style of music often associated with techno but there are a number of differences between the two. Saying they are the same thing is similar to considering classic rock and today's rock as being the same. Anyways, i love listening to electronica as well as going to shows to hear it live so i think i will write about this wild in the fast lane community which i am apart of.

Emilie's Community Narrative

Hey guys, I'm thinking of doing my project on being a member of the REACH community, which is a Christian-based program that holds weeklong mission trips to low-income communities. I went down to West Virginia these past two summers with over 400 other high school students from all over the country, and we worked to fix up homes for less fortunate families and spent time talking to them because a lot of them are living alone and don't have family or friends around to talk to.
I'm thinking that the tipping point in my project would be the fact that the first year, our group left New Jersey with five students, and upon returning and talking to people about our experiences, we were able to kick that number up to twenty seven this past summer. This shows that mission trips, which were once not a popular thing to do in my area, are becoming more widely known and people are gaining the interest in attending themselves.
Let me know what you guys think!
I was thinking of writing my community narrative on The JMU freshman class. I feel that everyone in this community relates together in that we are all experiencing the same stress and pleasures of being at JMU. We all feel the stress of assignments given to us by our professors and we all have the pleasure of being free and independent from our parents. If you have any feedback on this topic leave a comment.
Hey guys,
I'm going to do my community narrative project on the Catholic community. I was born and raised in a Catholic household, and I even went to Catholic school for my whole life. My family is Irish and most people in my family embrace the Catholic Irish culture. Big family events in my family all are held during Catholic holidays. My family's Catholic beliefs bring us closer together. It also helps me spend time with my family more, either at church or other events. This summer I did Catholic charity work with my grandpa every week. My at Catholic schools I prayed with classmates and grew up with other Catholic kids. Having similar beliefs with people I grew up with helped my beliefs grow stronger.
Let me know about opinions on the topic, and give me feedback.

Ashley Kellner's Community Narrative Project

Hey everyone!

I was thinking about doing my Community Narrative Project on the Down Syndrome Community. For the past six years I've been an after school nanny to twin boys with Down Syndrome. They were also born prematurely so had serious brain, heart, and stomach complications. These boy's have really shaped who I am today. Because of them I have become actively involved in the Special Olympics and the Buddy Program and wish to become a Speech Therapist, so I can work with children similar to them. They are a huge part of my life, so I am a part of their community.

Ashley

facebook community

Hi everyone!

For my Community project, I was thinking about writing my narrative on the facebook community. This is a community that almost everyone is a part of, therefore everyone will be able to relate to and understand my project.

I was thinking about researching some background information on facebook such as who created it and when. I was also going to look into how many members there are.

Some possible ideas for tipping ideas:

Form spring, default pictures of celebrity look-a-likes, games (Farmville, fishville, cube crash), statuses, etc.

If you have any other ideas/suggestions please let me know

Taylor's Community Narrative Project

Hey Everybody,

For my community narrative project I am going to be writing about being a part of the gay community. When I think of all the communities that I belong to I first think of the JMU community, my high school community, my hometown community, as well as the gay community. For my project I want to write about many topics within the gay community including, stereotypes, bullying and harassment, human and legal rights, and other social issues that are faced by members of this community on a daily basis. I hope that by writing about this community I can bring light to a subject that is often not given much attention and often considered inconsequential.

Hopefully I can expand on that some more, any advice and or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Alex's Community Narrative

Hey everyone,
Im going to do my community narrative on different diseases and how they affect families overall. Growing up my family overall had different medical problems. My little brother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease. We never knew where these diseases came from because nobody else in my family including all relatives have them. My older brother has allergies to nuts and hair from different animals like horses and dogs. All these things changed my family such as never having a dog in our house or waking up at 3 in the morning to check my little brothers blood sugar to make sure he is fine. I always thought this was intresting because all families have different medical problems which changes a family overall.

Thanks let me know if you think this is a good idea or not

Marie's Community Narrative

Hi everyone,

I plan on doing my first project on a community that I used to belong to but am no longer a part of. This community is the dance community, mainly because of the significant amount of time I spent as a part of it. I began dancing when I was three and did not stop for 14 years. The dance community is incredibly strong and those who are in it spend 6 days a week together for about four hours. Not only that, but within my specific community, there were no males involved, which made the bond grow much stronger.

However, within this community, there was a tipping point when the dancers reached about age thirteen. This is the time when company auditions began and the girls behavior toward one another drastically changed based on the company to which they were accepted. It also made the competition between the girls a much bigger trend.

Hopefully I can relate my dance community to the larger national dance communities to strengthen my narrative
Hey guys!
I have been in a Latvian community since I was born. Both of my parents are from Latvia and I have grown up with Latvians my entire life. There is already a set community with other Latvian-Americans living all up and down the east coast, in the mid-west, and also the west coast. I think this will be an easy paper to write about since there is a lot of history and pride in this community. It also is a major part of who I am so I will have a lot of different ideas on this topic. Let me know if you think it will be a good idea!

-Kristine

Danielle's Community Narrative

Hey everyone! Hope you had a good weekend!

I am going to do my community narrative on the competitive sports community. I grew up playing softball on a travel team. It is something that is very time consuming and takes up a lot of your life. Because of that, it creates a very close group. Everyone in that group has the same passion and drive to play and be around the sport.

There is a tipping point though. There are kids who grew up in this community and as they get older the pressure mounts. After a while, some can't handle the intensity anymore. Often it is caused by parents or coaches who don't realize how it effects the kids. I've noticed that when one person quits, at least one oter will shortly afterwards. And this trend keeps spreading.

Hopefully I can expand on it a little more! We'll see!
Thanks, Danielle

Samantha's Community Blog

Hey guys,

I think i am going to write my community narrative on the Friends Against Drunk Driving (FADD) community. I recently became very involved in this community when I lost my best friend to drunk driving just a month ago. People do not understand the risk they take when they get behind the wheel after consuming any amount of alcohol. This community is an awesome community that helps to rasie awareness about drunk driving and hopefully prevents more people from drunk driving and possibly saving a life that couldn't be saved before.

Andrew's community blog

Hi guys,
I will be writing about being in the Taiwanese community. As a Taiwanese-American, my cultural identity has always been important to me. This is the community that I was born into, and it would be easy for me to share with everyone that has no clue where this little island that the dutch explorers called "Formosa" (Beautiful Island in dutch) is.

Matthew's Community Narrative

I think for my community narrative I am going to write about the LIVESTRONG community that was created by Lance Armstrong. I have been a member of this community ever since the yellow bands were made to raise money for cancer research. This community is for a great cause, and the fact that Lance Armstrong was able to overcome cancer and still be an amazing athlete makes me proud to be a member. I'm sure a lot of you are also a member of this community because it is so large and popular, which I also think is cool. If one man can inspire an entire country, then I think that says a lot about this community. Let me know if you guys think this is a good topic to write about. Thanks!

Cameron's Community Assignment

Hey everyone,
I think I will be writing about my High School community. It will be the best and easiest topic for me since I spent the last 4 years of my life there. I think I will spend some time talking about the different cliques in a High School. I was never apart of a clique, I was friends with jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, emos, and ect. There are also tipping points all around High School so I believe I can include a bunch of those.
I was thinking about writing about the JMU community, but as Emily said I do not think I have been here long enough.
Thanks for reading,
Cameron

Community Assignment

What's up everybody? I hope everyone is having a good weekend. For my community narrative, I plan on writing about my family. My family is relatively large and they have always been a big part of my life. My family is the most important community that I am a part of, so what better to write a paper about then them?
Thanks,
Sean

Katie's Community Narrative

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if my idea will work or not, so let me know what you think. I belong to a communtiy of people who grew up with divorced parents. There are so many of us, that we're not all connected like people from the same high school, but I think growing up with divorced parents provides a totally different expirence for us than for those growing up with parents who stay together.

Some people included a tipping point in their blog and others didn't, so if I need to include one I would probably just mention several well-known divorce cases that made divorce more common. I don't know exactly when it became more popular, but I know that divorce didn't use to happen as often as it does now.

Thanks for any comments or advice!

Community Narrative: Sophia

Hey,
Like some of you guys I plan on writing my narrative about my high school community, but in particular I'm considering writing about how tipping points in the popularity of certain music artists are catalysts to other tipping points in dialect and fashion. When I went to high school, knowing a song before everyone else was a big deal to a small group of people. These kids could always find that one song, album, or artist that would heard bumping through car speakers, blasting at parties, and being passed around on facebook for the entire summer or school year.

No matter what my main topic ends up being, I plan on covering how facebook enables a "permission giver's" ideas to spread, how originality motivates the community's "permission givers," and how the community shows respect for the "permission givers," by, ironically, copying them. Other thoughts I had were about the roles that convenience plays in fashion trends like the braid pony tail, and the tipping point for the "throw salt on the h8erz" movement that began in my high school after a group of Model U.N. members coined the term. There is a facebook group called "Throwin Salt on the HATERZ" if anyone wants to get a better understanding. I don't have a solid idea to tie all my topics together yet but hopefully that will come to me soon. I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Emily's Community Narrative

Hi Everyone!

I was planning on writing about the community within a school. More specifically my high school just because I do not think that I have been apart of the JMU community long enough to write about it.

I believe that the communities established within a school are among the strongest and most stable. Within my high school everyone was farily close knit and we had things such as school spirit for example to bring us together.

As for the "Tipping People" within my narrative, I have a few thoughts in mind. I could do the typical jock or popular kids, though I am also thinking about having a teacher act as Tipping Person.

If anyone has any ideas or comments please let me know!

Valerie's Community Narrative

Happy Weekend everybody :)

I belong in the Short People community. I don't need to pretend it's the "fun-size" or petite community or any other cute names. I'm 5'2.5, I'm short. It's cool, I like it. So I plan on writing about how other short people and myself are trying to establish ourselves with some respect.

What do I mean by needing to establish respect? Pick two people out of a room, one that is 6' and a short person like me. It's almost instinct to follow the taller person rather than someone you can tower over.

I have tipping people for the different areas I plan to cover (i.e. fashion, military, and politics). Within these areas I will explore why this person needed to establish themselves as a leader, how they did it, and the outcome. I will also look at if their work has advanced the community or paved a path for others.

To qualify, I am calling 5'5 and under short. Here is a website I'm using to find some names to mention within my narrative: http://www.tallmenshoes.com/heoffashpe.html

Suggestions, comments, and tips are always appreciated. Thanks guys!

Eric - Community Narrative

Hi Everyone.

I plan on writing my narritive on Boy Scouts. I have all the introduction materials like where my Boy Scout Troop is located, amount of people, and number of patrols, etc. I already have a tipping group of people, but I was wondering if anyone has any more ideas on tipping ideas/events?

I already have summer camps, troop meetings, court of honors, and merit badges. Could you please post any comments or ideas that you might have?

Thanks in advance, Eric
